We go the last mile of humanitarian action.
ACTED teams are devoted to supporting vulnerable communities throughout the world and accompanying them in building a better future by providing a response adapted to specific needs. Our staff provides aid to populations affected by crisis using an approach that is both local and global, multidisciplinary and adapted to each context. By ensuring the link between Emergency, Rehabilitation and Development, ACTED teams guaranty that interventions made in a situation of crisis are useful and sustainable, because only long term support – by remaining in the area post emergency and involving communities – can end the poverty cycle and accompany populations on the road to development.
Definition and Theory of Change per Zero
Zero Exclusion: because society is enriched when it can benefit from all the voices and ideas of its
members; and the vulnerability of marginalized populations can be reduced by promoting citizenship, inclusive institutions, vibrant civil society, and accountable governance mechanisms, policies and actions.
Theory of change: If social capital is strengthened and all individuals including the most vulnerable, are able to co-create governance systems that meet their needs, then societies will enable all individuals to exercise their rights.
Zero Carbon: because we want to pass on to our children social, political and economic systems that respect and protect natural balances, flourishing life on land, healthy oceans and seas, an ecologically sound development model and a global governance of the commons.
Theory of change: If ecosystems are resilient, citizens drive environmental protection, infrastructure promotes sustainable consumption and production of resources, and economic systems extract the maximum value
Zero Poverty: because poverty is an intolerable entrapment of people who could otherwise contribute to positive change, which is reproduced from generation to generation, it is our collective responsibility to ensure systems promote protection of the most vulnerable and offer opportunities.
Theory of change: If the impact of crises on individuals is mitigated, access to basic services promoted, and economic systems are more inclusive and socially oriented, then individuals have better opportunities for financial independence and economic empowerment.
